Edo State University Uzairue Graduates 283 Students

A total of 283 students have graduated from Edo State University Uzairue, with 15 graduating with first class honors, 120 with second class upper division, 102 with second class lower division, and 11 with third class honors. Additionally, 26 students graduated with a master's degree, and nine postgraduate diploma holders were also recognized.


At the graduation ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor, and the Chancellor, Dr. Aderemi Makanjuola, praised the academic staff for their dedication and commitment to their jobs, which led to the university's success. They also noted the university's 100% success rate in the council exams for students of Nursing and Medical Laboratory Science.


Prof. Emmanuel pledged to continue improving the quality of education in Nigeria and ensure that Edo State University Uzairue remains a source of pride for the state.


The Governor of Edo State and visitor to Edo State University, Godwin Obaseki, reiterated his administration's commitment to promoting technical and vocational education. He also announced automatic employment for the 15 first class graduates in the state civil service.


During the ceremony, the Chairman of Setraco Nigeria Limited, Abu Inu Umoru, was awarded an honorary Doctorate Degree, and Seyi Samuel Olatunde Agbooro of the Department of Civil Engineering was recognized as the best student with a 4.94 CGPA.


Finally, various awards were presented to the graduates, with Damilola Osofisan and Salome Anakhu receiving the five-million-naira prize for the best student with the best entrepreneurial ideas.


Overall, the graduation ceremony was a success, and the graduates are poised to make a positive impact in their respective fields.
